πππ***"I've lost everything" Abbie***
Abbie's pov
I was lost in my thoughts. I let Samuel get the best of me. He fooled me and got his way with me. I'm so stupid.
Very stupid!
I stopped at a big gate, uncle's house. I stared at it for a while before going in.
The gate man was sleeping on the bench like a log. He forgot to bolt the gate, again.
Always sleeping!
I sighed as I walked slowly into the house. I know uncle and aunty are waiting for me to come back.
I met them sitter on the couch in the living room watching a movie.
Twist of fate!
My favourite!
Oh!
I guess my fate is about to get twisted too.
Uncle Bola saw me and got up.
"It's about time you came" he said.
"You're leaving my house this instant" he added.
I knelt down on both knees with tears in my eyes.
"Uncle please, don't chase me away. I have no where to go to"
"Bianca, tell her to leave now or I'll throw her out myself" he said to his wife.
She looked at me and sighed.
"Abbie, please just go. But I warned you about that boy but you wouldn't listen, now see what you've put on yourself. Just go" she said and looked away from me.
I turned to uncle Bola.
"Please uncle, I beg you. Don't chase me away, please" I crawled to his side and held his legs.
"Please"
He moved away from me.
"Out now" he pointed to the door.
I sat down there, crying.
So this is how it all ends.
I let out a loud, doleful wail.
Uncle grabbed by my arm and pulled me up. He held me firm and began walking towards towards the door.
Aunty Bianca just sat there, sipping her juice and watching the movie series.
He opened the door and pushed me out. I fell to the ground.
"Musa" he called out but he was still sleeping.
"Stupid boy" he cursed. He grabbed my arm again and pulled me towards the gate.
Oh no!
Not the gate!
"Musa, wake up you fool"
Musa stood up that moment.
"Sir"
Uncle opened the gate, pushed me out and locked the gate. I could here him shouting.
"Don't let that girl into this house, am I clear?"
"Yes sir"
I banged the gate.
"Please uncle, let m in"
I continued banging the gate till I got tired.
I sat down on the ground, my legs spread apart and my hands over my head.
What am I going to do now?!
I heard the gate opening.
Uncle?
I stood up and looked at the person.
No!
Musa.
"Oh, it's you" I said, sniffling.
"You see, I told you but what did you say? He's just my friend"
I looked down in shame.
But for an Hausa man, he speaks correct English.
But that's not my problem now.
He took my right hand and placed some money in it.
"This is all I can do for you" he said.
"Thank you"
"Take care of yourself. I know one day, your uncle will regret his actions" he said and went back inside.
I sat back on the ground.
Hot tears ran down my cheek.
Why didn't I listen?
Why was I so stupid?
I've lost everything.
My education!
My career!
My happiness!
My joy!
My life!
After crying enough, I stood up.
I better find a way to fend for myself.
But how? I'm just fifteen. I don't know anything. I've always gotten whatever I wanted.
I haven't lived alone before, and definitely not on the streets.
I clenched my fist.
But I have to start from somewhere.
Yes!
I have to try.
I began to walk to the unknown, not knowing my fate.
I'm on my own now.
